Vegan Jumbleberry Crumble Pie

Vegan Jumbleberry crumble pie, a fun, fruity, delicious pie! We make our pie with over 600g of mixed fruits (in the large size)! The wholesome crust and crumble topping are made with 100% whole grains. The pie and crust/crumble are lightly sweetened with a mix of gula melaka and brown sugar.

A classic berry pie can contain a cup of sugar, a cup of butter, and no whole grains in sight. But we like to taste our fruits, not just sugar, and find that pies can be even more delicious when you use real ingredients like whole grains! So our entire pie (including the crust and crumble) has less than 1/2 cup of sweetener, and just 2-3 tablespoons of sunflower oil. Mostly you are getting:

Fruit! - this pie is made of a mix  of blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, black currants, rhubarb, and apples. Fruits are not only tasty, but a rich source of vitamins, minerals, and phytonutrients.

Oats - oats are well known for their soluble fiber, which lowers bad cholesterol and aids digestion. They also help stabilize blood sugar levels and decrease the risk of cardiovascular problems. Go mighty oats! They are also a good source of protein, iron, magnesium, copper, B1, and much more.

Gula Melaka and dark brown sugar- coconut sugar is said to have a smaller affect on blood sugar levels. Both gula melaka and dark brown sugar are less processed sweeteners, so they have some natural occurring nutrients that originally would have been stripped away. I see no need to use processed sweeteners when the lesser processed ones taste even better!

cinnamon - not only does cinnamon give a nice flavor boost to desserts, it is a nutritional powerhouse! It is anti inflammatory and stabilized blood sugar levels.

So you can fully enjoy every bite of your jumbleberry  crumble pie and know that you are helping your health as well!

The main crust of this pie is the same oat/nut butter/gula melaka crust that we use for some of our other pies. I usually use peanut butter, tahini, or sunflower butter. If you have specific nut/seed allergies, let me know! The top crumble is made of oats, dark brown sugar, cinnamon, and sunflower oil.

 Coconut Whipped Cream tastes great with pie, so if you would like a container of it on the side, choose that option! If you prefer to make it yourself, I have instructions in the recipe section of our website!
