Vegan Blueberry Crumble Pie
Vegan blueberry crumble pie, a classic! We make our delicious pie with almost 500g of blueberries (in the large size)! The wholesome crust and crumble topping are made with 100% whole grains. The pie and crust/crumble are lightly sweetened with a mix of gula melaka and brown sugar.
A classic blueberry pie can contain a cup of sugar, a cup of butter, and no whole grains in sight. But we like to taste our blueberries, not just sugar, and find that pies can be even more delicious when you use real ingredients like whole grains! So our entire pie (including the crust and crumble) has less than 1/2 cup of sweetener, and just a few tablespoons of sunflower oil (it can also be made oil free upon request). Mostly you are getting:
Blueberries - one of the healthiest fruits on the planet! Blueberries are rich in antioxidants and over a dozen important anti inflammatory and anti-cancer phytonutrients. They are also a great source of vitamin K, manganese, fiber, vitamin C, and copper.
Oats - oats are well known for their soluble fiber, which lowers bad cholesterol and aids digestion. They also help stabilize blood sugar levels and decrease the risk of cardiovascular problems. Go mighty oats! They are also a good source of protein, iron, magnesium, copper, B1, and much more.
Gula Melaka and dark brown sugar- coconut sugar is said to have a smaller affect on blood sugar levels. Both gula melaka and dark brown sugar are less processed sweeteners, so they have some natural occurring nutrients that originally would have been stripped away. I see no need to use processed sweeteners when the lesser processed ones taste even better!
cinnamon - not only does cinnamon give a nice flavor boost to desserts, it is a nutritional powerhouse! It is anti inflammatory and stabilized blood sugar levels.
Coconut Whipped Cream tastes great with pie, so if you would like a container of it on the side, choose that option! If you prefer to make it yourself, I have instructions in the recipe section of our website!

*if you need me to use certified gluten free oats for these, choose from the drop down menu at the top before adding them to your cart. Please note that I make all of my products in the same kitchen. I carefully wash everything in between, but cannot 100% guarantee no cross contamination
**If you prefer your pie to be oil free, we can use peanut butter in the crust and crumble instead of oil. It will have a slighteanut butter taste, and not be quite as crispy, but is still yummy! Just send us a message after you order to request no oil.
